How to choose the ideal tatoo designs

Take your time

To be 100% happy with a tatoo you must be certain that your choice is correct. It should reflect your personality and beliefs. The biggest problem is that so many people make this lifelong decision in just an hour or two while flicking through a folder in a local tatoo parlour. This is no place to make a hurried decision, when you consider that one mistake you will with live for the rest of your life, or even end up getting it removed and spend hundreds of bucks for an ill informed decision.

Gorgeous tatoo designs are numerous, and to study each possibility requires time. Don’t be pressured into selecting one quickly, an all too common error. Better to choose it in your own place, with no pressure. Another advantage with this is that you can hear friends opinions too.

What does your tatoo mean?

What will having your tatoo mean to you? Are you making a personal statement, or a public statement?
Aside from this if you are getting an Asian tatoo make sure you really know what it means. Who wants to go around with “Chicken Fried Rice” in Mandarin on their arm?
Various type of tatoo designs have there own meaning. Such as dragon tatoos.

Social Issues

Well, if you're tattooed on your face or your arms ... where people can see it ... most employers probably would not hire you.
-- Laura Bush

While you’ll have your own ideas of tatoos, most of society still regards tatoos as being outsiders. Perhaps kind of absurd when you consider that in the past they have been used to indicate solidarity, to identify people as members of the same tribe. You should bear in mind that you will have to deal with any issues on a daily basis, no days off with a tatoo. This is especially important if you are considering a tatoo on a section of skin which is normally visible, such as face, neck, hands or wrists.

Are you sure?

You need to be sure not only of the design, but the fact that you want the definitely want this tatoo for the rest of time. While getting Beavis & Butthead tatooed on your arm might seem funny, won’t the joke wear a little thin in five years time? What if Jenny, the love of your life, decides to split? Do you want to be only interested in women called Jenny?

Find a reliable tatoo artist

Make sure you see some previous work of the artist and how long they have been in business. Probably the best way is still by referral, if other people are happy and the shop has a good reputation then go and see. Some artists specialize in certain designs and wont be comfortable with other types of designs.
