Angel Tatoos

What do angel tatoos mean?

Angels are normally depicted as messengers from God. They are found in many different religions. Throughout history they have appeared to people in the form of humans, albeit with astonishing beauty. Angels are sent to earth to announce God’s intentions.

Traditionally they are pictured with sword or weapons in their hands or even on horseback. Over time they became depicted with wings due to their ability to fly, although never described as with wings. Cherubim & seraphim do have wings. Sometime angels are shown with halos. Angels are though to be powerful with omniscient powers, unwavering judgment, but not infallible as after all the most famous fallen angel is of course Satan.

The reason that people get angel tatoos are many and varied, but recently a popular trend has emerged of recent parents getting them as a way of symbolizing the innocence of their newborn. Guardian angel tatoos are also popular, seen as a protective device against the forces of evil, and will keep the wearer or family in safety. One famous guardian angel believer is footballer David Beckham, who has the two guardian angel tatoos to watch over his sons. Also Angel Williams the female wrestler, unsuprisingly given her name, is a big fan of these tatoos.

Angel tatoos can therefore be depicted in a large variety of ways, from cute to demonic. Something to think about before you choose your tatoo!
